    • Some of the benefits of massage therapy include reducing stress, improving circulation, relieving pain, increasing flexibility and range of motion, and promoting relaxation. Massage therapy can also be used to improve sleep, reduce feelings of depression and anxiety, and improve overall well-being.

  4. What should I expect during a massage therapy session?

    • During a massage therapy session, the therapist will consult with you to understand your specific needs and concerns. You will then lie down or sit comfortably while the therapist uses a variety of techniques and pressures to target specific areas of the body. The therapist may use oils or lotions to help the hands glide smoothly over the skin.

    • The frequency of massage therapy sessions can vary depending on individual needs. Regular massage can be beneficial for maintenance and overall wellness, but it is always best to consult with your massage therapist to determine the best schedule for you.

  6. Are there any medical conditions that would prevent me from getting a massage?

    • Yes, certain medical conditions may require doctor's clearance or are contraindicated for massage therapy, always consult with your doctor before receiving a massage.

  7. What should I wear during a massage therapy session?

    • For a full-body massage, it is recommended to disrobe to your comfort level and drape with sheets provided by the therapist, only the area being worked on is exposed.  It's important to keep in mind that the therapist needs to access the area to be massaged, so tight or restrictive clothing should be avoided.

  8. Is it normal to feel sore after a massage therapy session?

    • It is common to feel sore after a massage therapy session, especially if it is a deep tissue or sports massage. The soreness is usually referred to as delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and is similar to the muscle soreness felt after exercising. This is caused by the therapist working on deeper layers of muscle tissue, releasing tension and adhesions. Soreness is typically mild and should subside within a day or two. If soreness persists or is severe, it is best to consult with your massage therapist.

  9. How long does a massage therapy session typically last?

    • A massage therapy session typically lasts 60 or 90 minutes. The client can choose the session length that best suits their needs. A 60-minute session is usually sufficient for a targeted massage such as back, neck, and shoulder while a 90-minute session is recommended for a full-body massage. The therapist will adjust the session to the client's needs and preferences within that time frame.

  10. How much does a massage therapy session typically cost?

    • I offer:

      • 60-minute massages for $90  or

      • 90-minute massages for $120

  11. Can I claim massage therapy on my health insurance?

    • At my practice, I do not directly bill insurance for massage therapy services. However, you may be able to submit the invoices from your massage therapy sessions to your insurance company for reimbursement. It is important to check with your insurance provider to understand their requirements and coverage for massage therapy before attempting to submit for reimbursement. I will be happy to provide you with the necessary invoices for this purpose.

Reiki is non-invasive and is believed to work by promoting the body's natural healing abilities. Reiki is often used to reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep, and alleviate physical pain.

    • Reiki practitioners believe that the healing energy they channel flows through the practitioner's hands into the client's body, promoting balance and well-being in the body, mind, and spirit. This energy is said to promote the body's natural healing abilities and help to bring the body back into balance. It's based on the idea that there is an unseen "life force energy" that flows through all living things and that when this energy is low or blocked it can lead to illness and pain.

  14. What are the benefits of Reiki?

    • Reiki is believed to promote balance and well-being in the body, mind, and spirit. It is often used to reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep, and alleviate physical pain. It can also help to improve the overall sense of well-being, reduce feelings of depression and anxiety, and promote relaxation.

  15. What should I expect during a Reiki session?

    • During a Reiki session, the client will typically lie down or sit comfortably while the practitioner places their hands on or above the client's body.     • During a Reiki session, clients typically wear comfortable and loose clothing, similar to what they wear during a yoga session. You can wear anything that you feel comfortable in, but it's best to avoid tight or restrictive clothing that may hinder the flow of energy during the session.

  19. How long does a Reiki session last?
